Assistant Kitchen Bathroom Designer

CUSTOM CABINETRY, FURNITURE & WOODWORK is a local kitchen and bath design and building firm currently serving the cities of Hampton Roads, Virginia—Norfolk, Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, Suffolk, and Portsmouth. PLS INC. CUSTOM CABINETRY, FURNITURE & WOODWORK seeks a part-time assistant kitchen bathroom designer with the opportunity to be trained to be a full-time kitchen bathroom designer. The ideal candidate will have the ambition to help the company owner grow and reach its goals and objectives year after year.

If you meet the position's goals and objectives, you can move up in the company in less than nine months to a year. This is the only option.

Performance objectives are:

• Assist designer with design layouts
• Conduct some onsite measurements
• Occassionally meet with clients to go over layouts, cabinet and hardware selections, and design ideas.
• Work on 2020 Design Software
• Work on Chief Architect Design Software
• Assist with ordering and tracking cabinet orders
• Receive and verify cabinet shipments
• Maintain cabinet accessory inventory
• Coordinate and communicate delivery and installation schedules with Clients, Vendors, Front Office and Shop.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Interior Design is preferred but not necessary
• At least one year of experience in designing kitchens and bathrooms
• 2020 Design Experience is a plus
• Excellent verbal skills and the ability to communicate professionally
• Detail-oriented, with the ability to interpret project and plan specifications
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to interact with contractors and homeowners
• Knowledge of appliance specifications and integration into kitchen design
• Ability to adjust quickly to new or changing assignments, processes, and personnel
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office especially, Excel and Word, Internet
• Knowledge of the kitchen design process
• Perform job responsibilities in an efficient and timely fashion.

• A valid driver's license with a good driving record

Responsibilities:

• Working interdependently with the current kitchen bathroom designer.
