Qualifications:
Education
Must be a graduate of a nurse practitioner program that meets the standards of the Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) in California or a graduate from a physician assistant program that meets the standards of the Physician Assistant Committee of the Medical Board of California. Must be licensed in California. Current CPR card.
Experience
Graduation from a nurse practitioner program which meets the standards of the California BRN or physician assistant program that meets the standards of the Physician Assistant Committee of the medical Board of California and completion of training consistent with the procedures to be performed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent interpersonal skills with patients required. Must have knowledge of alphabetical filling system. Must have sufficient knowledge of verbal and English comprehension and expression to communicate clearly with callers, visitors and staff.
Other Requirments
Must demonstrate responsibility for keeping credentials current and for updating his/her knowledge. Must demonstrate reliable and punctual attendance. Must have a friendly and helpful disposition toward visitors and staff.

Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates knowledge and ability to gather data pertinent to patient plan of care / assessment. Performs appropriate patient intake related to compliant, medical, social and family history.
- Utilizes patient chart, hospital chart or emergency room records to gather data when needed.
- Performs medication reconciliation and gathers information on adverse drug reactions, allergies and idiosyncratic reactions.
- Performs appropriate physical assessments and has ability to complete thorough physical exam on male and female patients commensurate with licensure and to understand normal variations.
- Demonstrates knowledge of laboratory reports, x-ray reports and has ability to interpret their effect and influence upon patient care management.
- Promotes health by considering preventative health measures.
