Position Description:
We are seeking a Warehouse Manager to effectively manage our warehouse and fleet operations, including creating efficiencies and introducing innovative solutions where possible. This person is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the shipping/receiving, stockroom, and fleet management functions in our Fridley, MN and Columbus, OH locations. This position provides leadership and direction to 9-12 employees; including resource allocation, coaching, and facilitating an environment of continuous improvement to create a highly successful team.
Essential Job Duties:
- Provide direct supervision of all warehouse employees in 2 locations: including workload prioritization, schedule management, coaching/mentoring, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance reviews
- Ensure team's compliance with all company rules and procedures, and the safety, cleanliness, and security of the warehouse work environment by delivering ongoing training related to these items
- Foster an environment of team building for employees to support business needs that vary over the course of the day and with the seasons
- Plan, supervise, and control the repair and maintenance of Company vehicles and company spray equipment.
- Provide direction and resources to field staff for vehicle maintenance and repairs
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with external vendors and key material suppliers
- Support process for maintaining vehicle registrations and licensing
- Oversee the purchase and prep of new service vehicles and related equipment
- Support vehicle accident reporting and subsequent repair and insurance record keeping
- Plan, organize, and monitor the receiving, storage, assembly, and distribution of all materials received from vendors
- Supervise purchasing procedures and approves invoices related to materials and vehicle maintenance
- Assist in the design and maintenance of internal supply chain programs
- Oversee the building and ground maintenance, including managing vendors and negotiating contracts for trash removal, landscaping, snow removal, roof inspections/repairs etc.
- Effectively communicate with Operation and Executive Management on warehouse and fleet related activities. Participates in management meetings as required
- Safely drive company vehicles
- Cooperate with management to complete any other tasks as assigned

Minimum Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- A Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or a related field is desired. However, a strong combination of education and experience is acceptable
- 3 years of successful supervision of hourly employees; including demonstrated employee/team development
- Working knowledge of warehouse safety practices and programs, including OSHA requirements
- Excellent work ethic with a strong interest and ability to learn and strong organization skills are required
- Ability to effectively communicate on the phone and through email/text in a professional and efficient manner
- Must possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Microsoft Office computer systems training, experience, and aptitude
- Ability to read, write, clearly speak and understand English
- The ability to pass a DOT physical
- Favorable drug test and acceptable background record is also required
Preferred Requirements:
- Forklift certification is desired but not required
- A mechanical aptitude is strongly desired
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Communicates through telephone conversations, email, text, and face-to-face interactions
- The ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs
- This is a physical position with extensive movement, including, but not limited to bending, stooping, twisting, kneeling, reaching overhead, standing, and sitting
- Read printed materials and a computer screen
- The ability to perform tasks that require hand-eye coordination
- Capable of working in variable temperature and weather
