German Localization Tester

JOB SUMMARY

We are a tech service company providing quality assurance testing for innovative apps and websites for digital agencies and Fortune 500 companies. As a Localization/Linguistic Tester, you will primarily be responsible for editing content already localized to your native language making sure that you catch errors in the content. These errors might include typos, grammar, political incorrectness, spacing, inconsistencies, and punctuation. You will also be performing testing activities for functional issues and UIs. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Execute extensive manual and localization/linguistic testing (functionality, integration, and regression) for mobile applications and websites following detailed test cases
• Search, analyze and document bugs including all relevant information (logs, screenshots and detailed steps to reproduce) in various defect tracking systems
• Verify fixes and follow up on tickets throughout the bug life cycle. Follow strict testing security procedures
• Check accuracy of translation within context and utilize native language skills and cultural awareness of the target language country
• Act as a subject matter expert for linguistic issues in the target language
• Resolve and research linguistic questions
• Work on several projects simultaneously in a complex environment with changing priorities
• Work closely with QA Lead and/or QA Manager and ensure regular communication throughout the project
• Provide timely status reports to QA Lead and/or Project Manager

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Must be proficient with Windows, Mac OS X, different or multiple browser versions as well as iOS, Android and Microsoft mobile OS versions
• Native-level or fully bilingual fluency (both spoken and written language) in German (required)
• Up-to-date awareness of current and common technical language usage in German
• Candidates with previous Localization/Linguistic, QA, and translation experience or with advanced computer skills are preferred
• Experienced in MS Office and G Suite
• Comfortable with multi-tasking and flexible with a changing project environment
• High energy with a positive attitude
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail, disciplined, organized approach, strong work ethic

• Monday-Friday
• Work location: Hybrid; On-site if local to 97214; candidates outside of the Portland-metro area may work remote

Please note that this work is freelance and therefore, part-time depending on project need. Due to this, hours will vary and flexibility with a changing schedule is very important.
