We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Buyer to join our team at a leading manufacturer of material handling equipment. The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing purchased components, equipment, and outside services, as well as managing vendor relationships. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
- Source and procure purchased components, equipment, and outside services necessary for manufacturing material handling equipment.
- Determine quantity and timing of deliveries.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with vendors to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
- Evaluate supplier performance and maintain strong vendor relationships.
- Identify alternative sources as required to mitigate supply interruption.
- Collaborate with internal departments to forecast procurement needs and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage inventory control processes.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost-reduction strategies.
- Stay updated on market trends, industry developments, and new technologies to inform purchasing decisions.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and vendor communications.
- Resolve vendor disputes, advise leadership when escalation is required.
- Cost recovery when suppliers commit errors or fail to meet commitments.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with procurement software.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid judgment along with decision-making skills.
Experience:
- A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a purchasing, scheduling, or engineering role, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, engineering or a related field preferred.
