We're hiring for a full-time Dietary Assistant Lead! Weekend availability required.
Job Summary
The Lead Dietary Assistant supports the Registered Dietitian (RD) with daily operations of the dietary department in a healthcare facility. The Lead will support the RD to plan, direct, and coordinate food service activities, and ensure that quality standards are met. The Lead will also support the RD with developing and maintaining nutritional services, oversee food preparation and meal service, ensure sanitation and safety standards are maintained. The Lead will also recruit, train, and supervise dietary staff, and ensure that all staff members are in compliance with department policies and procedures.
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Prior experience as a dietary assistant.
- Organizing and supervising meal planning and preparation
- Ensuring that food safety standards and nutritional guidelines are met.
- Knowledge of food safety and nutrition
- Experience in food service management
- Ability to supervise and direct staff
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to read, write and speak English sufficient to perform job duties and to interact and communicate with residents, families, and employees.
