PLZ Corp is the North American leader in specialty aerosol and liquid product manufacturing. We formulate, blend, fill and package more than 2,500 branded and private label products including cleaners and polishers, industrial solvents, lubricants and degreasers, adhesives, sanitary supply disinfectants, insecticides, air fresheners, and personal care products for home and industrial use.
We are hiring Quality Supervisor is responsible for the daily oversight of the quality department and its personnel. This position is also responsible to provide quality support through collaboration with other departments.
- Oversee the daily activities of the Quality team
- Confidently make decisions to help meet Safety, Quality, and production goals
- Facilitate training for all Quality Department personnel, including safety and operating protocols
- Develop flexibility in team members through cross training
- Collaborate with appropriate departments and support teams to solve problems to the root cause and respond to concerns/issues with sustainable actions.
- Ensure all scheduled and unscheduled absences within the Quality Department are covered appropriately, including overtime
- Assist Quality Manager in handling customer complaints, reports and CAPAs.
- Engage with and facilitate site audits, both Internal and Customer driven
- Champion Good Documentation Practices in the facility
- Generate and manage Certificates of Analysis/Conformance and other documentation as needed or requested
- Manage the COA system, including creation of new templates
- Manage calibrations/PMs for Quality equipment, including Lab(s)
- Facilitate all HR issues, including reviews/evaluations, working with Quality Manager as needed
- Attend designated Quality related meetings, including fitment/production
- Emergency backup to all quality positions; including being the main backup for the Quality Manager
- Assist Quality Manager in SOP creation/maintenance, including respective training for Quality personnel
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Quality Processes or related field / OR related experience / OR a combination thereof- Two (2) years’ in a similar role
- Lab instrumentation experience required, including the GC and HPLC
- Experience with Quality processes and/or systems
- Familiarity with SAP, WMS, SPC and the Microsoft Office Suite desired
