Fast-growing media company Penske Media Corporation (PMC) technology team is seeking a Director, Portfolio Delivery. The Director, Portfolio Delivery will be expected to work on delivering high profile projects while also overseeing the health of the Portfolio of digital projects. This role is crucial in supporting delivery and process improvement across multiple teams in various locations. You’re a highly motivated self-starter who is organized, follows process well and is comfortable stepping into a delivery role. You are analytical, detail- and results-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills and a strong work ethic. Your communication skills are exceptional and you are comfortable delivering in high pressure environments.

We deliver using a combination of Agile (Scrum, Kanban) and more traditional Project Management techniques such as Gantt charts, formal risk assessment and stakeholder analysis, depending on the size and complexity of the project.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and deliver multiple multi-platform projects on time and to budget, within project scope and stakeholder expectations. For these projects you will be the front-line project manager.
- Work with Agile and Hybrid-Agile project management processes, train and advise the team on good project management practice and the application of Agile processes for improved team performance.
- Continually look for and suggest ways to improve PMC’s standard project & collaboration processes.
- Ensure PMC’s complex Portfolio of digital projects stays on track, ensuring that projects kick off following standard kick-off process, that the projects are being well planned and that the projects are resourced appropriately.
- Act as first line of escalation for projects that need assistance with key risks and issues. Bring in the VP, Product Delivery when necessary.
- Report on Portfolio health to senior leadership on a regular basis. Help prepare for upcoming projects and present recommendations on how to accomplish new requests as appropriate.
- Manage development teams and deliver core functionality to a multi-website content management system.
- Work with team members and executives from PMC’s various brands to ensure their expectations are continuously set throughout the project lifecycle, they are kept up to date on progress, risks and issues and that they make relevant decisions in a timely manner. Use various communication mediums such as formal presentations, written reports and informal email updates.
- Collaborate with teams based around the world including Los Angeles, New York, UK and India.
- Manage 3rd parties and suppliers to ensure delivery.
- Using strong technical understanding to work directly with developers and technical staff, communicating requirements and solving problems.
Skills:
- Minimum 8 years’ experience managing development projects / teams in the media, entertainment, or publishing industries.
- Excellent understanding of Agile software development cycles with minimum 5 years experience running Agile Scrum teams.
- Experience running a complex portfolio of delivery projects, ensuring processes are being followed, stakeholders are satisfied and escalating to senior management when appropriate
- Experience implementing and continuously improving Agile methodologies
- Scrum certification (one of CSM, CSP, CPO, CSC)
- Experience of operating in a multi-product, multi-client business environment with competing priorities and diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with multiple teams / stakeholders in multiple locations across multiple projects simultaneously, including communicating with VP, EVP and C-level executives. Ability to write and present top quality presentations to senior leadership.
- Experience managing remote teams.
- Highly organized, with ability to track multiple deadlines across multiple workstreams simultaneously.
- Preferred: Knowledge of HTML, CSS, XML, PHP, RSS and other web technologies.
- Preferred: Knowledge of and experience working with WordPress.
- Preferred: Experience with project management systems and software including; planning software such as Jira / Smartsheet / MS Project; and diagramming and presentation software such as Lucid / Visio / PowerPoint / Photoshop

Typical wage range: $130k - $150k. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role. The typical candidate is hired below midpoint of the range. The total compensation package for this position will also include other elements, a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits including 401(k) eligibility and paid time off benefits.
