Marketing and Graphic Designer - Partnership Volunteer

PMI-SFBAC, an all-volunteer chapter (non-profit) organization, is one of the largest and longest-running chapters of the foremost resource for management in the world - PMI. Our San Francisco Chapter is revolutionizing Project and Program Management by integrating next-generation concepts into our solid and respected foundation.  We help professionals grow and enrich their lives in a fun, collaborative, community environment.

The Partnership Engagement Team Members are responsible for onboarding new partners from large corporations, small business and/or academic institutions to the chapter. This role will report to the Partnership Engagement Manager. 


We need a creative Marketing and Graphic Designer that will support the Partnership Marketing team to build, maintain and execute a marketing plan for the Partnership Team. This role will work cross-functionally to ensure that all the marketing content is created, reviewed, tracked, and sent out with the PMI-SFBAC Marketing Team. They will work cross-functionally with the Marketing team to create logos, the Partnership web page on the chapter website & social media posts, plus review upcoming deadlines. Create promotion videos for posting to LinkedIn and Instagram. 


Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Works with the Marketing, and Partnership Team to create ideas to design thePartnership Challenge visual images and event graphics.
  • Coordinates with the chapter Marketing Team for multi-channel socialization.
  • Co-Creates a timeline for posting on social media with PMI-SFBAC Marketing.
  • Works with PMI-SFBAC Marketing committee to become familiar with their process and opportunities then crafts post on PMI SFBAC outlets.
  • Supports the creation of articles as requested and contributes content.
  • Works with the Partnership Team to develop marketing content.

  • Ability to volunteer 4-6 hours a week.
  • Team player, adaptable, and comfortable in working with diverse team members.
  • Passion for professional development and growth, and to make a positive impact on the community via dedicated support to a non-profit organization.
  • Strong accountability and dedication to supporting a non-profit organization.
  • Soft Skills: Marketing, Organization, Problem Solving, Effective Communication
  • Hard Skills (Not required, but recommended): Canva, PowerPoint, Google Docs, Asana, WhatsApp, Social Media Posting

Desired:  

  • Minimum 6 months of engagement with the Next Generation Leaders Program 
  • Understand current PMI design/brand standards and develop a consistent look and feel for various types of designs
  • Conceptualize visuals based on requirements
  • Prepare rough drafts and present ideas
  • Develop illustrations, logos, and other designs
  • Use the appropriate colors and layouts for each graphic
  • Test graphics across various media
  • Amend designs after feedback
  • Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand
  • Join weekly team meetings to collaborate with the Marketing team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using Asana for project management
  • Experience with Canva Premium and Photoshop
  • Experience in other volunteer and non-profit organizations
  • Creative thinking 
  • Reliability 
  • Ability to dedicate 3-5 hours per week to volunteer work
