As an Infrastructure Configuration Consultant within PNC's Data Center Facilities organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Ashburn, VA or Richmond, VA at our Data Center. The position is primarily based in a PNC location. Responsibilities require time in the office or in the field on a regular basis. Some responsibilities may be performed remotely, at the manager's discretion.

Preferred Skills Include:
* Data Center Engineer - understanding data center infrastructure
engineering/design
* Fiber optic cabling experience
* Familiar with corning/panduit/vertiv products

Job Description

• Manages the requirements for planning, organizing, and implementing enterprise-wide technology infrastructure and configuration management functions.
• Leads the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of major configuration changes from acquisition to termination.
• Oversees the effective implementation and use of the configuration management process, methodology, tools, procedures, and audit activities.
• Develops and publishes metrics to qualify and quantify configuration success; ensures that configuration practices are in compliance with standards.
• Ensures the accuracy and validity of the configuration database for content on assets, major infrastructure and platform components, system documentation and service components.

Competencies

Configuration Management - Knowledge of and ability to manage the process, tools and techniques for managing hardware, software, communications, facilities and personnel that provide the organization's IT services.

ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) - Knowledge of and ability to apply ITIL processes and standards for managing the IT infrastructure.

IT Quality Assurance - Knowledge of and the ability to utilize a variety of specific technical tools and testing methods to ensure the quality of IT production.

Performance Measurement and Tuning - Knowledge of and the ability to monitor, measure, and optimize individual and combined utilization of hardware, software and telecommunications components.

Software Change Request Management - Knowledge of, and experience with, managing product change requests from customers, prospective customers, vendors, and internal staff.

Software Product Installation and Support - Knowledge of, and experience in, helping customers install, integrate, and operationalize software products or systems.

System and Technology Integration - Knowledge of the features and facilities of systems, and the ability to integrate and communicate among applications, databases and technology platforms.

Systems Software Infrastructure - Knowledge of software technology, and the ability to plan global, regional and local software architecture and infrastructure components.

Work Experience

Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 3 years of relevant / direct industry experience. Certifications are often desired. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
