As a Software Architect within PNC's Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA or in a remote location within the PNC footprint, although it may not be available in all jurisdictions. Certain job responsibilities may require in-person, in office activities on a regular basis.Job Description
- Participates in defining functional designs and application systems architecture across all technologies and platforms.
- Designs an application's technical infrastructure, such as specific databases, programming languages, utilities, and testing approaches.
- Participates in the assessment of software defects discovered during the quality assurance process.
- Participates in addressing enterprise-wide platform and technology requirements for applications.
- Develops detailed programming instructions to solve business problems through automation support.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Representational State Transfer (REST) software design and architectural style.
- Experience with Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) software design and architectural style.
- Experience with Event-Driven Architecture (EDA) software design and architectural style.
- Experience using Unified Modeling Language (UML) to create structure (including class and component) and behavioral (including use case, activity, and sequence) diagrams for complex systems.
- Working knowledge of Microservice architecture and API gateways.
- Working knowledge of Banking Industry Architecture Network (BIAN) service landscape.
Essential Functions:
- Participates in the evaluation of complex business, process, systems, and technology requirements, and creates solution designs for various applications and components.
- Develops detailed architecture solution designs reflecting application consumption and integration with Fraud solutions and enterprise business logic.
- Provides technical guidance to application development teams.
- Consults on integration and conversion activities.
- Conducts reviews and analyzes organizational needs and goals to develop and implement applications.
- Stays abreast of industry developments and continues to develop professionally.

Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 5 years of industry-relevant experience. Specific certifications are often required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.Education
