Job Title: EDI Analyst/Tester

Summary
As a member of an Agile development and/or support team for one or more business applications, the EDI Analyst/Tester is responsible for black, gray, and white box testing of desktop and web-based applications in PNT Data’s product suite. You will be responsible for defining and executing comprehensive test plans and test cases, ensuring that quality of issues and defects are properly identified and tracked. The successful Quality Analyst works independently and collaborates with a diverse team including product managers, software developers, testers, project managers, and teams such as Client Services and Operations.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Analyzes requirements. Develops, maintains and executes test plans, test cases with test results. Reports software defects with detail information.
- Tracks quality assurance metrics such as defect rates and open defect counts.
- Communicates directly with management and the development team regarding test objectives, requirements and results.
- Proposes suggestions for additions and improvements to the software.
- Complete special projects and other duties.
- Completes all other duties as designated by management
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree in Healthcare Informatics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Science, Mathematics, Public Health, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience
- Experience testing both desktop and web-based applications.
- Proficiency in writing SQL queries and RDBMS. MSSQL Server is preferred.
- Experience in testing healthcare EDI applications. Understanding of EDI standards is a must.
- Experience in medical claims processing transactions will be preferred.
- Proven excellence in solving complex problems related to software testing.
- Experience with at least one widely used object-oriented programming language such as Java, C#, C , and scripting languages such as Python preferred.
- Good written and verbal communication skills. Good interpersonal skills; is a team player.
- Ability to work with distributed, offshore teams.
- Ability to learn healthcare domain quickly (healthcare experience desired).
- Experience working in a professional software development life cycle (SDLC), Agile preferred.
- This role will have access to Protected Health Information (PHI), Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and confidential information. All employees will be required to successfully complete and comply with company provided HIPAA Privacy and Security training annually
