Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Sales Executive is responsible for selling Harvard Pilgrim Health Care to new employer groups through Brokers and penetration of membership. The Sales Executive is the primary contact between Point32Health/Harvard Pilgrim Health Care and the prospective employer groups and is expected to recommend the most appropriate product and price for both the customer and the company.
Key Responsibilities/Duties – what you will be doing
Primary responsibility is to cultivate new leads using cold calling, newspapers, specialized publications, brokers, consultants, telemarketers, databases, terminated accounts. Must develop and maintain an active prospect process through collaboration with telemarketing and broker support. Serves as primary contact between account, broker and Harvard Pilgrim Health Care for information including products, benefits, and the value and quality of Harvard Pilgrim Health Care. Acts as consultant on plan design, negotiates rates, and works with internal service areas such as Account Services to provide customer service solutions. Develops and implements an overall strategic sales plan to increase quota levels. Responsible for RFPs, reports, membership projections, updates sales data systems, gathers competitive information. Works directly with Administrative Assistant to coordinate appropriate information. Maintains current and thorough knowledge of Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, products, benefits, systems, health care industry, legislation, etc. through training and Salesnet. Attends health fairs and other client meetings and coordinates site visits. Prepares and delivers presentations. Accountable for appropriate level of entertaining clients and monitoring expenses. Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.
Qualifications – what you need to perform the job
Education:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Experience:
3 - 5 years experience in sales
Preferred Skills/ Qualifications:
Negotiation and communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, highly organized, persistent, detailed, takes initiative, creativity in problem solving.
Skills/ Competencies:
Business software applications, Oracle
Other Skills:
Broker's license required
Working Environment
Reports to New Business Sales Manager. The Account Executive interacts with Marketing, Enrollment Billing, Account Services, AURA, Member Services, Medical Management, and Product Implementation.
Valid driver’s license, ability to travel up to 50% including some overnight. Must have ability to travel between HPHC locations as required by the position. Must be able to work flexible hours including morning, evening and weekend shifts at employer sites, ability to stand for up to 8 hours (at health fairs), lifting of approximately 30 lbs.
