This role sits within Aptiv’s new product organization, which will be at the forefront of transforming the auto industry with cutting-edge technology. Position Summary We are creating Interior Sensing software platform solution, that will be reused in multiple projects. It is a service-based, hardware and OS agnostic product, that combines image based Driver Monitoring and Cabin Monitoring functions. We are implementing framework, image processing and rule based features - in accordance to ASPICE and FuSa processes. Embedded implementation is done in C , but we are utilising scripting languages for supporting functions. We are porting this product to (but not limited to): x86 Linux, ARM Linux, QNX, VxWorks. Your role: Lead the software architecture planning, design and implementation. Design, document, and implement reusable software architecture based upon generated requirements – technical leadership of a product, that will be reused in multiple projects Support resolution of issues reported by customers Interface directly with suppliers to understand and influence design aspects that impact the software. Interface directly with automotive OEMs, project and platform teams to understand requirements and review designs. Develop documentation to comply with automotive SPICE Develop concepts to improve the performance Incorporate requirements traceability into the software architecture using dedicated tools such as Polarion/Enterprise Architec Work with Product Development and Product Strategy teams to create software products containing required features and modifications Key Requirements: Approx. 8-10 years software product development experience (preferred Object Oriented analysis), design and programming Experience with software product architect in the definition and implementation of software architecture within product development with accordance to SPICE Experience developing highly scalable multi-threaded software for embedded systems Understanding of functional safety (ISO26262) concepts and its impact on software development Experience with formal configuration management tools (eg. GIT) and static code analysis tools Experience with formal UML architectural design tools such as Enterprise Architect and requirements analysis tools such as Polarion Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, ETH) Experience with Operating Systems/RTOS (Linux, QNX / OSEK, VxWorks) or applicable for automotive systems Strong analytical capabilities for identifying and resolving engineering tradeoffs Demonstrated leadership abilities in directing technical activities and documenting technical issues with great decision-making and communications skills with geographically distributed teams Why join us?
