Position: Box Truck Driver
Employee Type: Full-Time
Driver will be reporting to the designated supervisor or manager, operate motor vehicles for pickup and delivery to customers and suppliers. Performs all other duties assigned by supervisor or manager. Must understand, practice, and ensure that company policies, procedures, state and federal laws are followed at all times. This position is subject to both inside and outside environmental working conditions including temperature changes and outside weather conditions.
Responsibilities:
- Helps in preparation of the shipment
- Provides prompt and courteous service, demonstrates friendliness and proper etiquette with every customer or vendor
- Maintain a professional appearance
- Make sure customers/ vendors receive prompt, efficient and courteous attention
- Be familiar with procedures for handling all aspects of customer complaints or disputes. Resolve any customer complaints in a friendly manner.
- Immediately report to manager or supervisor anything that occurs, which may potentially jeopardize the ability to physically or legally operate a motor vehicle
- Immediately report to manager or supervisor all driving related incidents to include traffic citations, warnings, accidents or mechanical problems experienced on either private or public property whether on or off the job.
- Performs any other miscellaneous duties requested by manager
Qualifications:
- Valid CT driver’s license
- 3 years’ experience driving Box Truck
- Clean driving record
- Forklift license and experience preferred
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High School or GED
- Ability to operate vehicle and hand truck safely
- Previous 2 yrs. manufacturing driver experience preferred
- Good reading, writing and communication skills
- Proficiency in English language
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, move product, equipment and supplies up to 75 pounds
- Must be able to work at heights up to 20-25 feet
- Regularly stands, bends, lifts and moves intermittently during shifts of 8 hours
