Position Summary
The Senior Accountant in the Accounting Team will be responsible for preparing a variety of journal entries, reconciling balance sheet and operating statement accounts with high risk, leading field or head office department month-end meetings and supporting the overall operations of the Accounting Department.
Job Specifications
Core Competencies
Perform complex balance sheet account reconciliations and analysis for accounts with high risk, including preparing journal entries
Review the results of assigned business areas and make necessary accounting entries; investigate and report on variances
Plan, coordinate and lead assigned field and/or head office department month-end reviews
Complete monthly, quarterly and year-end close responsibilities
Document all existing accounting procedures and processes based on thorough understanding of areas
Assist with monthly and quarterly reporting to Holdings
Lead external audit timelines and assigned tasks
Prepare analytics and/or models to better understand business results; work closely with the Finance Planning team to understand budgets and forecast and the related variances
Use technology to streamline manual processes
Recommend process improvements, assist in implementing process improvements

Qualifications/Skills
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, required
Must be a team player with ability to maintain a positive attitude in an extremely fast-paced environment
Ability to effectively multi-task and manage multiple projects at once
Must have strong communication skills
Strong analytical skills
Minimum Education/Experience
Undergraduate degree in Accounting, required
