What are the responsibilities and job description for the News Assistant position at Politico?
POLITICO is seeking an enterprising and versatile news assistant to help support our coverage of politics, policy and power. The news assistant will be responsible for research, fact-checking, transcription and other tasks supporting our newsroom operation. Strong applicants will have experience with the fundamentals of news gathering and familiarity with a range of research tools, such as LexisNexis and Chartbeat, as well as with POLITICO’s journalism. This is an entry-level position with room for growth and expansion.
What You'll Need:
- Familiarity with state and national politics and policy, Congress and campaigns
- Clear and clean writing skills
