Custom Job Purpose:
This position exists to perform professional accounting duties in the budgetary and financial operations of the school district.
Essential Functions of this Job
Assists in all aspects of the budget process. Assists in providing advice and technical assistance. Assists by examining budget estimates or proposals for completeness, accuracy and conformance with established procedures, regulations and organizational objectives.
Periodically monitor areas of the budget by reviewing reports and accounting records to determine if allocated funds have been spent as specified. Assists in accounting activities such as preparing journal vouchers, Kelly subs report, Para Pay Forms, Special Activities.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Requires strong analytical skills, courses in statistics and accounting are helpful. Requires familiarity with word processing and the financial software packages used in budget analysis, such as electronic spreadsheets and database and graphics software. Interest in school finance laws, regulations, and policies. Ability to express oneself well, orally, and in writing. Bilingual/biliterate preferred.
Education, Experience and/or Certification/License Requirements
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred. Budget and financial experience preferred.
Work Context:
Requires sitting and some standing, walking and moving about to coordinate work. Requires face-to-face discussions and contact with students, individuals and/or teams. Requires the use of alternative communication systems, such as electronic mail, telephones and computers. Requires coordination of work tasks to establish priorities, set goals and meet deadlines. Requires work with both internal and external contacts, and with the public.
Physical Environment:
Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. Requires sitting for the majority of the day, and the ability to lift, carry, move and/or position objects infrequently weighing up to 20 pounds.
