Position Description
Pomeroy IT Solutions is seeking an experienced a Mainframe Computer Operator in the Boulder, CO area.
In support of our client, we are seeking a Mainframe Computer Operator to carry out the following essential duties and responsibilities:
Core Function:
Perform Production Control duties per documented processes and procedures. This includes a working knowledge of customer hardware and ability to interact, troubleshoot issues and work independently.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ability to monitor production & daily performance of all platforms.
- ManageNow, ServiceNow, ISM, or Remedy Ticketing system
- System Restoration, Disaster Recovery, and High Availability
- Multi-System Monitoring Software
- Technical and Operational Documentation
- HMC Console, Operations Console
- Moderate to difficult computer skills
- Experience using Excel and Word is required.
- Ability to use email, communicate effectively both verbally and written.
- Ability to follow detailed processes/instructions is required.
- Employee may be requested to assist with individual and shift schedules in accordance with budget guidelines and may be required to work under remote supervision.
- Enjoys Working in a Fast-paced Environment.
- Knowledge of Computer Hardware and Related Services.
Qualifications:
- Two (2) years of related work experience to include user support or equivalent, and system monitoring of mainframes and infrastructure components/operating systems
- Ability to perform the essential functions of this position
- Ability to monitor and execute batch processing on multiple OS platforms
- Ability to perform disaster Recovery testing
