Job Summary:
We are actively seeking an exceptional Payroll Manager to lead our multi-state payroll operations. This crucial role demands a seasoned professional with a keen eye for detail, a wealth of experience in payroll processing, and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for operational enhancement. As our Payroll Manager, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing payroll cycles, ensuring compliance with intricate state regulations, and fostering cross-departmental collaboration for precise and punctual payroll processing.
Responsibilities:
Comprehensive Payroll Processing:
- Spearhead the accurate and timely processing, reconciliation, and transmission of the entire payroll cycle, encompassing tax, benefits, wage attachments, and more, across multiple states.
- Skillfully manage and schedule special pay cycles, such as commissions, bonuses, equity, and merit increases, ensuring meticulous adherence to state-specific regulations.
Regulatory Compliance & Deduction Management:
- Skillfully track and manage liens, garnishments, and other state-specific payroll deductions, ensuring unwavering compliance with the diverse tapestry of state laws.
- Execute weekly payroll for all employees, including those on leave of absence and terminations, in strict accordance with state-specific legal requirements.
Quality Control & Reporting:
- Conduct in-depth analysis and review of payroll/time and attendance data, implementing stringent quality control measures to minimize errors.
- Develop and generate custom reports, providing insightful analysis to support mandatory reporting and ad hoc business needs across multiple states.
Coordination & Auditing:
- Collaborate seamlessly with Accounting and Tax teams to coordinate payroll corrections and amendments, maintaining a sharp focus on accuracy and compliance.
- Conduct regular monthly, quarterly, and yearly payroll audits/reports as necessary for the complexities of multi-state payroll operations.
Process Improvement & Training:
- Stay at the forefront of federal and multi-state payroll laws, consistently implementing statutory updates and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in payroll and time tracking systems.
- Develop comprehensive self-service training resources, ensuring employees are proficient in payroll and time-tracking systems, fostering compliance and proficiency.
Requirements:
- 5 years of payroll experience with a focus on multi-state payroll operations.
- Expert in ADP Workforce Now Payroll processing
- Expertise in multi-state payroll laws, tax registration, and special pay requirements.
- Advanced Excel skills (v-lookups, pivot tables) for comprehensive data analysis.
- Experience in utilizing emerging technology and best practices to enhance service delivery efficiency.
- Tax filings, multi state, 941's , Workers comp and Unemployment Insurance filing knowledge is a must.
- Knowledge of ADP SmartCompliance disbursement and familiarity with DOT regulations and EDLs is a plus.
- Bookkeeping is a plus
Salary Range: Starting at $70,000 - $85,000, depending on experience
