JOB TITLE: ESL Teacher
REPORTS TO: Principal
WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Exempt
PAY GRADE: Teacher Salary Scale
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The ESL Teacher will pull small groups of students needing assistance to give them additional support in LA to ensure their Academic Success.

QUALIFICATONS:
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited College or University
- Valid Texas teaching certificate
- ESL Certificate
Preferred:
- At least one year of student teaching or approved internship
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Knowledge of subjects assigned
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Flexible and patient
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Provide additional student support through small groups for all grades
- Assist administrators and teachers with the planning and implementation of effective instructional interventions and tutorials.
- Monitor the progress of identified students following STAAR interventions.
- Monitor the academic progress of identified students following interventions based on CBA data.
- Communicate by maintaining on-going communication with administrators, and classroom teachers.
- Any other duties deemed necessary by the principal to further develop the education of the students as a whole.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom or adaptive equipment.

Salary : $60,500
