We are looking for an experienced, passionate individual to be a part of our team at our Bottaia Winery. We are located on the Ponte Family Estate Ranch which is just east of the Ponte Winery Tasting Room. The Tasting Rooms and The Pool at BOTTAIA winery bring a unique experience to Temecula Wine Country, including new wines, a semi-Olympic size pool, a splash pad for the kids, and 30 cabines (traditional Italian beach changing rooms), and a poolside café and cocktail bar.
Summary:
The Pool Bar & Café Bartender will greet guests with a smile and respond quickly to requests in a friendly and courteous manner informing them of daily specials and answering questions. Serve the guest food and beverages while providing friendly, attentive customer service that exceeds the guest expectations.
Compensation: $15.50 Tips
Hours of Operation: Wednesday – Sunday, 11:00AM – 6:00PM
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet guests with a smile and respond quickly to requests in a friendly and courteous manner, informing them of daily specials and answering questions.
- Check identification to verify legal age requirements for all guests.
- Mix and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks for guests.
- Mix drinks using an extensive range of ingredients including liquor, bitters, soda, water, sugar, and fruits, including company and craft cocktails.
- Slice, pit, and prepare fruit and garnishes for drinks.
- Have common knowledge of wines and mixed drinks and makes suggestions to guests.
- Monitor all patrons for alcohol intake to appropriate levels and attempting to curtail inappropriate behavior.
- Maintain food safety and public health regulations in to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
- Instruct and enforce all pertinent safe food handling procedures by following local health department standards.
- Organize the bar area to streamline drink preparation and inventory.
- Keep a well-stocked bar with an adequate supply of liquor, beer, wine, mixers, ice, napkins, straws, glassware, and other accessories.
- Mix all drinks based on the company recipes, keeping drink costs at a minimum.
- Deliver food and beverages ensuring timely, consistent, and quality food.
- Bus tables as needed.
- Monitor bar inventory and report to Food and Beverage Manager.
- Maintain a clean work area and perform side work at the end of the shift.
- Process guest payments in a timely and efficient manner ensuring accuracy of guest check. Maintain an accurate cash drawer throughout the shift.
- Be willing to assist fellow associates as needed.
- Thank the guest for coming and invite them to return.
- Understand and adhere to environmental standards set by the winery.
- Understand and adhere to the Bottaia values and service standards.
- Ensure the safety of guests and associates.
- Perform any additional duties as requested by the manager.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Have a thorough understanding of food safety and public health regulations.
- Ability to treat all associates and guests in a respectful manner.
- Exhibit integrity (honesty and truthfulness).
- Has attention to detail.
- Must have basic knowledge of mixed drinks, wine, and beer.
- Must be able to lift and carry a tray weighing up to 40 lbs. through a crowded bar.
- Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time, and in the outdoors, during inclement weather.
- Must have excellent communication, multi-tasking, and organizational skills.
- Must have exceptional grooming standards that are consistent with company guidelines.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Experience with wine desirable but not essential.
- Fluent in English.
- Able to engage the guests in a clear and professional manner.
- Work in high paced work environment.
- Must have or have the ability to obtain a Riverside County Food Handler’s Card.
- Must have or have the ability to obtain an ABC Responsible Beverage Service certificate.
