PopID is the universal gateway for verifying an individual's identity based on their face for applications such as loyalty and payment. Founded in 2018, we are a well funded, fast growing startup based in Pasadena, CA ().
PopID is seeking a full-time Cloud System Engineer to support our rapidly growing team. This person will be responsible for running the daily system operations in all areas of our cloud services, responding to incidents, and helping to expand our cloud presence. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in AWS, be Linux savvy, and have a desire to constantly research, learn, test, and implement new emerging technologies.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
Cloud and IT infrastructure operations
Microservices deployment, support, maintenance
Identify and troubleshoot system and network issues
Responsible for performance metrics, monitoring, and uptime
Configure, secure, and maintain cloud Infrastructure
Participate in planning, guidance, and execution of large multi-month/year projects
Write instructions and code to automate system deployments
Ensure high availability of PopID’s platform
Provide after-hours support
Key Qualifications:
2 years of experience in a Systems Administration or SRE role
Previous experience with Amazon Web Services
DNS, Load Balancing, VPN, CDN
Experience with the implementation, integration, management, and support of EC2, S3, IAM, Security groups, Relational databases
Strong working knowledge and proven working experience with the following: Linux based operating systems, TCP/IP networks, CI/CD pipeline, scripting languages
Ability to communicate to technical teams as well as non-technical resources
Preferred Skills:
Kubernetes (EKS)
Infrastructure as code (Terraform)
Experience with Splunk, Kibana, or OpenSearch
Basic knowledge of security domains
Any relevant certifications
Benefits
The starting base pay range for this position is $100K - $160K annually. Base pay will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may also fluctuate depending on the candidate's location and the overall job market. In addition to base pay, PopID offers a competitive compensation package that includes bonus, stock options, unlimited PTO, and a fully paid health care benefits package (medical, dental, vision plans). Flexible work (hybrid) environment based on the needs of the business, with expectations of at least 2 in-office days per week.
