Job Summary: The Manager, DevOps/Engineering is responsible for overseeing and leading the DevOps and engineering teams to ensure the efficient and reliable delivery of high-quality software products. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and strategic thinking to optimize development and operations processes. The Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain DevOps practices, automate workflows, and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Team Leadership:
    • Lead and mentor a team of DevOps and engineering professionals.
    • Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture.
    • Provide guidance on technical challenges and career development.
  2. DevOps Strategy and Implementation:
    • Develop and execute a DevOps strategy aligned with organizational goals.
    • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for efficient and reliable software delivery.
    • Collaborate with development and operations teams to streamline processes.
  3. Automation and Infrastructure:
    • Implement and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) practices.
    • Automate repetitive tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors.
    • Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure for scalability and cost-effectiveness.
  4. Release Management:
    • Coordinate and manage software releases and deployments.
    • Implement and improve release processes to ensure smooth and error-free releases.
    • Work closely with QA teams to ensure testing processes are integrated into the release cycle.
  5. Monitoring and Incident Response:
    • Implement and maintain monitoring tools for proactive issue detection.
    • Develop and execute incident response plans to minimize downtime.
    • Collaborate with support teams to address customer-reported issues.
  6. Security and Compliance:
    • Work with security teams to implement and maintain secure development practices.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
    • Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments.
  7. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Foster collaboration between development, operations, and other cross-functional teams.
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status and key metrics.
    • Facilitate knowledge sharing and cross-training within the team.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field OR 4 years of relative work experience.
  • Proven experience in a DevOps or engineering leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies and best practices.
  • Proficiency in automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Solid understanding of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Certifications in relevant areas (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator) are a plus.

Compensation

Annual base salary gross: 130-150K USD Annual. The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Company's contemplated salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and geographic location. The salary is one component of Company's total compensation package for employees.
