RECEIVING CLERK POSITION PROFILE
Reports to Executive Chef, position is non-exempt
THE ROLE
We are searching for a meticulous and dependable Receiving Clerk to join our Culinary team. This position plays a vital role in the smooth operation of our kitchen, acting as a crucial link between suppliers and our culinary staff. The Receiving Clerk is responsible for ensuring all deliveries are accurate, timely, and meet quality standards, verifying orders, inspecting goods, and organizing stock with efficiency and care. By maintaining an organized and well-stocked inventory, the Receiving Clerk supports our chefs, food and beverage managers and restaurant staff in providing exceptional dining experiences. This role requires a detail-oriented, proactive team player with strong communication skills, who can confidently handle time-sensitive tasks, foster positive relationships with vendors, and contribute to an efficient culinary workflow.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Model the company's Art Science ideologies to ensure the experiences of translocal hospitality, intuitive service, and collaboration are implemented and modeled by yourself and every leader of the hotel
- Uphold the company’s values and guidelines for a Respectful Workplace, Diverse, Equitable, and Inclusive environment, behaviors outlined within the Work Rules outlined the Associate Handbook
- Support the purchasing and receiving function for the hotel by ensuring orders are received and accounted for accurately in the company’s designated ordering system
- Communicate timely and effectively with hotel guests, vendors, and team members to maintain smooth operations.
- Ensure goods are maintained in a neat and organized manner as dictated by Culinary and Food and Beverage management.
- Assist with organizing storage spaces, this includes collaborating with other hotel departments such as Food and Beverage, Rooms and Engineering.
- Ensure the loading dock area is kept neat and tidy, including helping with the biodigester our on-site composting machine.
- Actively participate in the food, beverage, and retail inventory process to ensure accuracy and accountability.
- Ensure quality of product being received is to the standard of the property
- Rotate all stocks regularly, especially for Food and Beverage products to maintain quality and freshness of products.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- A passion for the People, Place and Character of our community, with enthusiasm for working in a hotel environment and engaging with others.
- Ability to lift, balance and carry up to 25 lbs. to transport money, dry goods, equipment, etc.
- Ability to push, pull, carry (with assistance) up to 100 lbs. to transport dry goods inventory, equipment, etc.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for prolonged periods between office and hotel areas, supporting various tasks as required
Rate of Pay: $18.29 plus tips - Associates will participate in a whole house tip pool where tips are shared with all hourly associates who contribute to the guest experience.
