Por Wine House seeks an experienced server to join our team.

Por Wine House is an upscale tavern in the heart of downtown Louisville, Colorado. We’re known for our wine on tap, extensive spirit selection (we have more than 900 whiskies and 300 tequilas and mezcals), craft cocktail program, and diverse, tapas-focused menu.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Welcome guests in a warm and friendly manner
- Accommodate guests’ special requests
- Make menu recommendations to guests
- Take orders from guests and input them into the point of sale system
- List ingredients or common allergens from memory by request
- Sell menu specials and limited time offers
- Run food and drink orders for tables and for other staff members
- ID guests ordering an alcoholic beverage
- Pre-bus tables between courses and before presenting checks
- Maintain a clean and tidy section
- Complete guest transactions in a timely and accurate manner
- Bus tables and reset to prepare for the next guests
- Perform daily and weekly side work duties such as preparing expo station, rolling silverware, cleaning, stocking ice, etc.
- Keep server station clean and tidy during service
- Work well under pressure and in a fast paced environment
- Confidently take the lead in any guest issues during service and communicate these to the manager on duty promptly
- Ensure guest satisfaction and profitability is maximized at every opportunity
- Uphold professional standards of excellence and sets an example to all other associates at all times
- Acts as an ambassador to the restaurant, building relationships and generating repeat business
- Strive to improve level of service with each shift
- Consistently up-sell wine, spirits, and food
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years of serving experience, serving guests alcoholic beverages in a bar/lounge or fine dining environment
- Speaks English fluently
- TIPS Certified (within one month of employment)
Skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow directions and abide by standard operating procedures
- Ability to focus for an entire shift, troubleshooting and prioritizing tasks
Knowledge
- Hospitality/food and beverage industry background and experience
- Wine, beer, spirit, and craft cocktail knowledge

Physical
- Ability to stand for long periods of time throughout entire shift
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs regularly throughout entire shift
- Ability to work in high temperatures

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour

Weekly day range:
- Every weekend
- Monday to Friday
