Job Summary
Primary purpose of the Laborer position is to work in a safe, efficient and quality-conscious manner while loading and offloading material to and from barges, trucks and railcars. We require you have reliable transportation to and from our business because our shifts will change from time to time. We operate out of a few different locations between Ambridge and Leetsdale. You will be required to lift at least 50 lbs. at times, and you will complete daily paperwork.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Uses proper and safe loading and unloading procedures
- Reading work orders and loading trucks with specified pipe
- Load and offload material to and from barge, truck and railcar
- Prepping and loading materials onto the crane
- Unloading the crane onto the truck / pallet
- Daily cleanup of work area
- Follows the Companies and the Clients safety rules
- Reports equipment safety deficiencies immediately
- Maintain and use appropriate PPE
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must have flexible schedule, we are open 24/7 and operate on 3 shifts
- Must have recent work history
- Warehouse experience required
- Previous forklift/crane experience is a plus
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis
- Work in areas with full exposure to the element’s year round
- Good customer service skills
- Proven track record working cross-functionally; ability to work well with all levels of team members with different backgrounds and needs.
- Must be able to work independently based on periodic guidance and direction - with excellent organization, accuracy and follow-up skills
- Time Management; able to effectively work on multiple tasks at a given time and maintain a high performance on each task.
- Must be able to perform tasks in a timely and safe matter
