QA Technician Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Quality Management or a related technical field or Associate’s degree in Manufacturing/Industrial Technology with experience in a similar role.
Experience:
A minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a similar role.
Skillset:
Knowledge of the ISO9000 standard and International Building Code.
Experience in Internal Auditing.
Experience with writing/enforcing standard operating procedures (SOP’s).
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Strong analytical and mathematics skills.
Strong MS Office computer skills.
Deal effectively with all levels of company personnel and customers.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Excellent attention to detail.
Focus on safety and quality production.
Positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
Duties:
1. Inspection and Testing
a. Materials:
i. Serve as point-of-contact to Manufacturing for materials issues.
ii. Partner with Materials group to resolve issues with vendors via Corrective Action process.
iii. Perform random inspections of incoming parts/materials to verify effectiveness of vendors’ corrective actions.
b. In Process Audits:
i. Perform random audits of work-in-progress on the manufacturing floor for compliance with drawings and workmanship standards.
c. Functional Tests:
i. Perform paint, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, door and window functional tests and document results.
d. Final Inspection Secondary Contact:
i. Inspect Finish Goods for compliance with drawings and Workmanship Standards. Document results.
2. Process Improvement:
a. Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, and other groups to improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency, including documentation.
3. Service requests Secondary contact:
a. Become an expert on major product components.
b. Perform initial troubleshooting with customers.
c. Determine if product is under warranty.
d. Contract service technicians for field calls.
e. Follow up with service technicians and customer on service call results.
f. Document results.
4. Calibration:
a. Keep calibrated tools current and maintained.
b. Perform random verifications of tools between calibrations.
c. Train craftsmen in use and care of tools.
d. Maintain documentation.
5. Quality System Audits:
a. Become an expert on the ISO 9000 standard.
b. Perform system audits individually or as part of a team. Write audit reports and corrective actions. Follow up on corrective actions.
6. Corrective Action Secondary owner:
a. Perform follow up audits and document results.
7. Other duties as directed by the Quality Manager.
