Portland Community College has an opening at the Southeast Campus for a temporary, one-year, part-time (0.5 FTE) Career Services Coordinator position. This position will be shared with the current Southeast Career Services Coordinator, and will provide coordination and leadership for the career center at Southeast and college-wide administration of a broad range of services and programming that further the goals and mission of the Career Services department under The Academic and Career Pathways Guidance Division within Student Affairs.

Portland Community College is the largest post-secondary institution in Oregon, serving over 60,000 full-time and part-time students across 4 campuses, 10 centers, and online learning. Career Services has centers on each of the 4 campuses (Cascade, Rock Creek, Southeast, and Sylvania).
This is a One-Year Temporary - 0.5 FTE (Part Time - March 2024 to March 2025) career opportunity.

The Coordinator oversees the day-to-day operations of the career center at Southeast Campus and leads a team of student leaders/peer advisors in creating a welcoming and inclusive space featuring a variety of career programming and services. This position works collaboratively with other campus centers to provide both districtwide and campus-based services to support students, alumni, and prospective students with exploring careers, majors, career resources, and with their employment and internship goals.

  • Demonstrates experience teaching, training, and/or facilitating adult learners; experience developing curriculum, training guides, and/or presentation materials.

  • Possesses skills in the development of program outcomes, assessment, data, and continual improvement practices.


Minimum Qualifications

To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Career Development, Communications, Social Sciences or related field. Coursework in psychology, human services or related area required. Experience performing the duties of this job may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis

$56,401.00 to $60,422.00 (Step 3); based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
