Job Posting for FOOD SERVICES TECHNICIAN (DRIVER) at Portland Public Schools
Full year position 40.00 hours weekly, 8.00 hours daily, Monday through Friday. Work hours can take place between 5:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Tentative work hours are 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Operate medium weight truck in picking up and delivering food and supplies from school to school. Loads and unloads trucks and performs receiving duties for deliveries (delivery trucks such as SYSCO, Central Paper Products, Tractor Trailer deliveries, etc...). Perform maintenance work, services vehicles with gas and water. Perform preventative maintenance on trucks and specialized kitchen equipment. This will include the ability to locate, diagnose, and repair malfunctions and to test repaired equipment. Oversees the cleaning of the Central Kitchen production areas in the building and groundskeeping of the building including shoveling and snow blowing. Assures that appropriate health laws are followed in regards to the cleaning of kitchen areas and its equipment. Maintain inventories and provide kitchen with needed supplies. Performs other related duties as assigned. Special Requirements: Must be able to work in a freezer area at temperatures of -10 degrees fahrenheit for extended periods of time. Must have experience driving trucks and have an excellent driving record. Must be able to do routine heavy lifting up to 70 pounds. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited high school or trade school or an equivalent combination of experience and training. Must posses a valid Maine State noncommercial class C driver's license, or equivalent and be capable of safely operating and maintaining a 22 foot refrigerated box truck. Must be certified or able to pass certification to run motorized materials handling equipment. Pass and maintain SerSafe Certification preferred. Other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position may be considered.
