Purpose:

Uses a forklift to load and unload, move or stack materials or products. Stacks or piles materials in a safe manner at specified locations. Also, supplies work areas with materials, receives incoming and ships outgoing materials, products or supplies, counts items received or shipped and checks against packing lists, recording any discrepancies. Prepares shipping or receiving reports and notes/records any shortages or damages. Performs showroom maintenance, installing and updating displays and products as assigned.

Essential Duties:

• Use forklift to load, unload, move and stack products.
• Receives, unpacks, packs, and ships materials and products.
• Counts and checks items and prepares reports as necessary.
• Undertake product display and sampling related activities

General Description:

• Operates forklift or similar material handling equipment.
• Unloads inbound shipments from trailers and loads outbound shipments on trailers.
• Loads outbound shipments on local delivery trucks according to delivery route or on customers’ trucks.
• Stacks and takes down pallets in storage areas.
• Receives and unpacks incoming shipments.
• Sorts, counts, and checks receipts against purchase order for proper shipment, shortages, damages, or defects.
• Moves, stores, organizes and reorganizes a variety of material and products as directed.
• Uses hands, hand truck, pallet jack or similar non-powered equipment to move materials.
• Produces and maintains records and reports as required.
• Selects and picks materials/products from stock to fill customer orders.
• Lifts up to 75lbs.
• Reports inventory discrepancies, stocks shortages, and incomplete orders.
• Prepares, packs, and labels products for shipment using protective wrapping, boxes, pallets, and crates.
• Identifies fragile material or poorly packaged material and may construct non-standard packing or reinforcing to ensure products protection from damage.
• Verifies and double checks picked product against packing slip to ensure item and quantity accuracy and inclusion of all items.
• Uses pallet shrink-wrapping equipment to prepare picked orders for shipment.
• Applies shipping labels, bills-of-lading, packing lists.
• Enters, maintains and updates (manual or electronic) records and reports as required.
• Performs showroom maintenance and installation of displays and products as per showroom manager’s request
• Maintains and organizes warehouse as directed
• Participate and assist in the physical counts of inventory as required.
• Prepare sample boards as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.

General Requirements:

• Requires at least 3 months of relevant experience.
• Forklift operation certification preferred.
• Valid drivers license.
• Basic PC skills for inputting and processing shipments and entering pulled order data into inventory/order processing system.
• Must adhere to good safety practices and rules, and exhibit common sense.
• Requires ability to read and write English at a basic level.
