SUPERVISOR: BANQUET MANAGER

SUMMARY

Banquet Houseman performs routine duties in the cleaning and servicing of hotel public areas along with cleanliness and organization of any banquet rooms, hallways, storage, and service areas. You must routinely inventory and care for banquet supplies such as linens, china, glassware, flatware and decorations. You are required to set up the banquet room per the specifications of a banquets events order and then reset the room to its original state after the event has concluded. During the event, duties include assisting servers, removing dishes, transporting tables and equipment, and attending to the special needs of guests. The ideal person for this position will have previous experience in banquet set up or in the hospitality industry.

• Set up the banquet area including tables, chairs, buffets, drink stations, concession stands, linens, dishes
• Refresh rooms when groups are on breaks and maintain restrooms during events
• Provide customer service and respond to all requests to guarantee guest satisfaction
• Work with other event team members to create a welcoming and warm environment and positive guest experience
• Clean up the banquet hall by bussing tables, removing garbage, and resetting the room
• Other duties as assigned

• Previous experience in banquet set up or hospitality industry
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift heavy objects and move furniture

PHYSICAL DEMAND

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. The employee requires manual dexterity to operate al necessary equipment. Ability to work in areas that have temperatures up to 90 degrees. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance.

Pay: $12.50 - $14.00 per hour
