Responsibilities
- Serve as Project Manager for bridge rehabilitation projects involving the use of Ultra High Performance Concrete (a specialty concrete product) reporting to the Director.
- Interface with design engineers, public transportation staff, prime and subcontractors, material and equipment suppliers, company board members and support staff and key stakeholders to promote the business and ensure customer expectations are exceeded.
- Manage appropriate staffing for all projects. Manage direct reports including Project Engineer, Project Superintendent and other staff as required.
- Responsible for project execution including estimating, construction, scheduling, safety, quality control, security, environmental and finance.
- Conduct buy out, material purchase, subcontract contracting, and hiring processes and meet project specified directives for small business, set-aside, buy America and other contract goals.
- Ensure complex set of contract requirements are met by project team.
- Serve as project construction expert and spokesperson for UHPC Solutions with project stakeholders to explain and defend, negotiate, and resolve project issues.
- Responsible for overall job safety as per the safety manual for the particular job, ensuring that jobsite meets all OSHA and project standards including cleanliness.
- Ensure that everyone on the site is following all safety protocols including AHAs and daily Tool Box Talks.
- Perform daily quantity review and report all extra work or non-contract work to the Division Director.
- Perform routine purchasing and subcontracting duties including purchase orders, check requests, invoices, subcontracts, insurance, payroll, equipment, and cost reporting.
- Actively participate in monthly review of estimates and pending submissions for payment.
- Control all material deliveries, production schedule, and long lead-time items. Coordinate interface with prime contractors and manage sub-contractors
- Efficiently maintain all records and files in field office. Develop and implement a project schedule that meets the goals of the owner and ensure project activities are thoroughly and properly planned.
- Supervise and ensure that all tasks are carried out by Project Team.
- Review projects to monitor compliance with UHPC project management standards, project specifications, safety standard, schedules and other applicable regulations.
Qualifications
- B. S. Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
- Professional Engineering license or ability to obtain license is preferred.
- Desire 5 - 10 years of experience in general contracting and 2 as a project manager for civil infrastructure/bridge projects.
- Must be capable of meeting deadlines, self-motivated, detail oriented and have excellent follow-through capability.
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment; able to accurately process written documents, perform duties in a timely manner, be highly organized and able to interface; communicate effectively with company, clients and field personnel at all levels.
- Effective management of construction work, resulting in completion of contracts within time and cost limits.
- Effective oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, decision-making ability, strong management and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and project management, project scheduling and document control/sharing software.
- Reliable and self-driven.

- Familiairty with UHPC (ultra high performance concrete) in hydro, bridge or infastructure reahbilitiation is a plus.
