Job Summary
Production Technician provides technical support to engineers during the improvement of manufacturing processes for production. Uses clearly defined tools and instructions from engineers for the maintenance of production equipment. Solves routine technical problems in assembly department. Projects will include 5S, tool replacement, preventative maintenance, safety implementation, and general production support.
Job Responsibilities
- Communicate with suppliers, customers, technical and production staff.
- Serve as the first point-of-contact for technical issues and questions.
- Read and understand technical documents such as manuals, drawings, specifications, contracts, procedures, work instructions and quality standards.
- Determine product compliance with technical documents.
- Understand and participate in lean-manufacturing activities.
- Perform time studies to verify existing production standards.
- Routine and preventative maintenance on production equipment.
- Order and replace tools in assembly as required.
- Solve routine technical problems.
- Answer technical questions using existing specifications.
- Follow instructions and accept constructive criticism to produce a positive outcome.
- Complete tasks or projects according to deadlines, including working extra if required.
- Obtain Yellow Belt from Positronic approved academy.
- Comply with all policies and procedures.
- Utilize and/or operate machines or tools that press, mill, drill, grind, or saw.
- Use Microsoft Office, Epicor, SolidWorks, and other software as required.
- Work with external entities and be willing to travel as required.
- Creation of job-related procedures and work instructions.
- Train other employees to job-related procedures and work instructions.
- Protecting themselves and their co-workers by adhering to all company safety & health policies
- Must work with the EHS department to ensure all local, state, and federal regulatory agencies requirements are met; OSHA, NFPA, DNR, EPA and Amphenol sustainability practices.
- Must work with the Quality department to ensure all quality standards are met for AS9100 certification.
- Comply with company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education: High school diploma or GED; or
Experience: 2 years related experience; or
Other: An equivalent combination of education and experience
Physical: Must be able to lift 0-10lbs. frequently. Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach and reach overhead.
Shift: Second (Monday-Friday, 2:00pm- 10:30pm)
