Responsibilities

Overview

The position of Sr. Manager of Insights and Analytics serves as a key member of the Insights & Analytics team. This individual serves as the voice of the consumer/shopper to drive data-informed, strategically minded analyses and recommendations to our brands. They will collaborate with brand marketers to identify not only “who” the brand needs to engage with, but also “what” we need to communicate in order to generate the consumer behavior we seek. They will design methodologies that deliver strong data and even stronger insights. They will move the team beyond looking at numbers to telling a story about what the data means and what to do next.

This Insights & Analytics Manager role is designed to be a hybrid role with responsibilities in both Insights and Analytics. He/she will be responsible for bringing new data-driven and primary research-driven insights to the PCB team. He/she will be specifically responsible for leading the consumer insights for the portfolio of brands including brands like Honey Bunches of Oats, Grape Nuts, Great Grains, Better Oats and more.

This candidate will be proficient across the path to purchase including proven expertise with new product launches, communication development and proficiency with syndicated data, accessing and leveraging to assess performance and identify opportunities.

This position works cross functionally supporting teams across Post Consumer Brands. Strong partnership, communication and prioritization skills are required to build productive working relationships with cross-functional teams and external partners. A spirit of entrepreneurship and agility will be necessary to enable success within this role.

Responsibilities And Accountabilities

  • Execute Consumer and Shopper research for Adult/All Family RTE and Hot Cereal brands
  • Partner with R&D/Sensory (where appropriate) on all product development testing
  • Partner with our Nielsen on-site staff as well as assure adherence and maximum value extraction from our ongoing partnership with this key agency
  • Empower decision making by delivering deep consumer understanding in simple, story like fashion
  • Provide clear, actionable recommendations and consult to ensure activation of the learning
  • Continue to build skillset of traditional primary and secondary research methodologies
  • Search out new, more agile and behaviorally based improvements to traditional methodologies that reflect new learnings and discoveries within the research community
  • Bring a sense of creativity and exploration to the Insights & Analytics team and broader Growth organization
  • Demonstrates Post Consumer Brands’ values of putting safety first, winning together, acting with integrity, being courageous and driving for results by embracing the Insight & Planning team’s vision
  • Manages Insights projects from design, collection, analysis, communication, and implementation of insights
  • Manages and leverages external research partners to deliver projects on time and within budget
  • Key contributor to the development and communication of the annual research plan
  • Ensures appropriate use of findings and recommendations with teams and business partners; offers coaching when needed
  • Participates in cross functional business management processes


Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree required, MBA is a plus!

Experience

7 years of market research/analytics experience in consumer packaged goods with exposure to both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies

Other Characteristics

  • Strong executive communication skills: Solid written and oral communication credentials, coupled with strategic influencing skills and storytelling
  • Clear results orientation: He/she should be able to drive and execute an agenda in an uncertain and fluid environment
  • Broad perspective: Knows how to pull insights from multiple sources and unexpected places to drive break-through understanding and action plans
  • Demonstrated experience managing external partners and ability to influence without formal authority
  • Adept in analytic tools and business analysis and comfortable working with syndicated data (Nielsen/IRI)
  • Experience using and leveraging trend insights (Mintel, Kantar, etc.)
