Position Summary:

Potawatomi Training, LLC seeks qualified person responsible for engineering support for the DMOC Battlespace/DevSpace infrastructure, development of new and upgraded system capabilities, O&M activities, and engineering DMO solutions. This position will perform and/or possess the following:

  • Provide Infrastructure, Development, and Engineering (IDE) support for 705th Combat Training Squadron (CTS)/Distributed Mission Operations Center (DMOC) activities to include program and engineering/technical management, infrastructure operations, infrastructure maintenance, and development/modernization/transformation. IDE work will be conducted at the Unclassified, Secret, Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI), and Special Access Program/Special Access Required (SAP/SAR) levels.
  • The scope of this effort consists of developing and maintaining simulation software and hardware solutions, building and maintaining network infrastructure, software application/design/development/ sustainment/currency/evolution and conducting Live-Virtual-Constructive (LVC)/Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) activities for the 705 CTS/DMOC.
  • This includes various DMO activities such as: Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) of new DMO systems; upgrades to existing DMO systems; engineering analysis and feasibility studies in support of development efforts; Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of system and network infrastructure; implementing video/voice/data communication links between systems and facilities; prototyping simulation systems; establishing interoperability between systems/simulators through multiple networks; maintaining scenario and terrain database generation systems; and implementing interoperability standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Plans, develops, installs, integrates, maintains, and configures a highly complex accessible battlespace consisting of multiple simulators and environment generators hosted on a secure systems infrastructure and networking environment accessible over multiple WAN networks
  • Develop system architectures that support the entire DMOC ecosystem, providing infrastructure services for all systems, services and applications residing on the DMOC infrastructure platforms
  • Enhance system resilience by tracking platform performance, network, and platform security, as well as diagnose system and network instabilities
  • Creative problem solving to maintain legacy infrastructure and network systems and to design/implement IaaS, IaC, and PaaS solutions that are fast, reliable, resilient, and secure
  • Efforts include but are not limited to hybrid cloud capabilities in both traditional cloud offerings and on-premise hybrid infrastructure, ensuring compatibility and seamless integration of platforms and services, migration to modern hybrid offerings from legacy systems, migration to cloud capabilities and services while ensuring platform availability
  • Develop, implement, document, maintain, and comply with a Configuration Management Plan (CMP) using industry best practices
  • Cover DMOC Battlespace/DevSpace as approved in the CMP
  • Establish and maintain, at a minimum, the performance (allocated), physical, and functional configuration documentation (e.g., baselines, network diagrams, physical topology, etc.)
  • Support all configuration audits (functional and physical) conducted by the 705 CTS on the configuration baselines
  • Provide the Government a Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM) within 14 calendar days after any discrepancy is discovered
  • Implement and follow 705 CTS approved procedures and processes for reporting and tracking all Battlespace/DevSpace changes IAW the CMP
  • Maintain the Engineering Change Request (ECR) approval system in order to track, route, and record all ECRs, to include the type of change request (major/minor), category of change (hardware/software/network documentation), affected system(s), criticality, assignment, routing, approval, final disposition, closeout, etc.
  • Report status of all ECRs in the reporting period in the Monthly Status Report
  • Schedule and run the Configuration Review Board (CRB), request appropriate Government personnel and ensure contractor personnel attend
  • Participate in meetings as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience Requirements:

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Software Engineering, Project Management, or related discipline -OR-
  • Equivalent commercial or military training, certifications and proficiency with computer and software tool usage.

EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 10 years of configuration management experience.
  • At least 5 years of procurement experience
  • Familiarity with some or all: AFATDS, C2 CORE, JADOCS, JMPS, KRADOS/FRAKEN, ABMS, CENET, AFSIM, MAAPTK, MSCT, PFPS, TASKVIEW, TBMCS, Open Fire/Transverse, ZEUS
  • CLEARANCE:
  • Secret security clearance

Working Conditions/Working Environment/Physical Demands:

  • Some walking and standing required. You may have to lift and carry equipment (i.e. books, tools) weighing approximately 10-15 pounds.
  • Most of the work is performed in-doors
  • Work in the occupation involves making repetitive motions more than 1/3 of the time
  • Requires standing for periodically
  • Must be able to stand, stoop, kneel and bend
