About this Role
Potelco, Inc. seeks a great Senior Human Resources Manager to join the team at our company headquarters in Sumner, WA. In this role, you will apply business and functional knowledge to inform and drive the short- and long- term HR priorities, including operating model design, workforce planning and talent management. You will partner with leaders to develop and execute plans for building leadership and management capability and creating organization designs that align to the business priorities. You will demonstrate analytical capabilities and be able to influence with data-driven recommendations.
The Senior Human Resources Manager is responsible for working with leadership to ensure the organizational health. The role provides leadership for implementation and execution of HR-related policies, programs and guidelines, organizational design, company culture and employee development. What You'll Do
- Develops, communicates, and administers various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel (bargaining and non-bargaining), including employee handbook, job descriptions, compensation, and performance evaluation programs, maintain employee files, etc. Consults with legal counsel to ensure that plans, procedures, and policies comply with federal and state requirements.
- Participates in annual business planning; implements and annually updates compensation program; develops merit pool (salary budget); analyzes compensation; monitors performance evaluation program and revises as necessary to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within the organization.
- Benefits administration, including annual enrollment, eligibility, monthly reconciliation, transfers, and changes for benefit administration as well as government reporting.
- Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance. Stays abreast of legislative changes, arbitration decisions and collective bargaining contracts to assess industry trends.
- Manages and administers employee leave requests including personal, medical, workers’ comp, etc. and in compliance with federal and state leave requirements, including state-sponsored paid family leave programs (SPFL).
- Develops and maintains affirmative action program; supports annual EEO-1 filing; maintains records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
- Recruits, interviews, tests, and selects employees to fill vacant positions.
- Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster a positive company culture.
- Coordinates management training and provides guidance in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.
- Conducts internal investigations as required and advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
- Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation and conducts exit interview to determine reasons behind separations.
What You'll Bring
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or commensurate experience.
- 10 years of HR Generalist experience.
- Ability to engage and consult with all levels of management; to establish working relationships and partnerships at all levels of the organization.
- Strong background knowledge in performance management, workforce planning, compensation, benefits, labor law, collective bargaining, and training and development.
- Ability to analyze complex information and formulate recommendations for decisions.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and presentation skills.
- Ability to provide oversight to numerous HR projects.
- Strong consultation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- SPHR or PHR certification.
- Union experience preferred.
Compensation Range
The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $120,000.00/Yr. - USD $150,000.00/Yr. depending on experience and qualifications.
