The Job Cost Accountant plays an integral part in Potter Homes mission by ensuring accurate recognition of project revenue and costs. Accurate and timely billing of contracts, maintaining and analyzing job cost reports along with contract and budget maintenance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform accounting duties throughout the project, such as processing subcontractor pay applications, invoices, and issuing of checks.
Processing of owner change orders and monthly owner billings.
Analyze budget and perform modifications and updates.
Issue Master Subcontract Agreements (MSA).
Set up new subcontractors and ensure they comply with the terms and conditions of the contract such as insurance, billing procedures etc.
Track Notice to Owners (NTO), collect subcontractor and supplier lien releases.
Analyze and prepare job cost reports to present to the team.
Work closely with Project Executives and Construction Managers on all facets of project accounting and administration issues.
Assist with project closeout process on the financial side.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor, cross train.
Representations & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or other related field and or minimum of three years of recent application in the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of construction accounting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Strong knowledge of construction project management software, Procore a plus.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites.
