Position Description
JOB TITLE: Behavior Services Assistant DEPARTMENT: Operations
REPORTS TO: Behavior Services Manager CLASSIFICATION: Full-time, hourly, non-exempt
SUPERVISES: Volunteers
JOB PURPOSE
The Behavior & Training Assistant is responsible for providing daily support to the Behavior Services Manager and other shelter departments including customer care.
ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Responsible for administrative support for training programs including but not limited to: class registration and payments, promotion, website updates, record keeping, and reporting. Maintains training class registration database (Dog Biz)
- Works collaboratively with independent contract dog trainers on the scheduling of classes and private consults. Communicates clearly in a timely fashion to ensure customer needs are met
- Performs in-shelter behavior modification plans as directed by Behavior Services Manager
- Coordinates shelter enrichment plans and ensures daily schedule is adhered to
- Responsible for handling all aspects of the behavior helpline and ensuring clients receive appropriate and timely follow-up
- Facilitates playgroups
- Responsible for ordering supplies, forms, and equipment as directed
- Provides customer service support to visitors and callers as needed
- Works collaboratively with animal care, customer care, and behavior volunteers
- Provides accurate information and friendly service to the public
- Performs other duties as needed including general maintenance and errands
- Coordinates and trains volunteers as needed
- Demonstrates initiative and flexibility to meet the demands of a busy non-profit organization while working enthusiastically and cooperatively with all departments and key management staff to assure that the goals of each department are met
- Follows all safety guidelines to ensure a safe work environment
- Adheres to all Code of Conduct Standards
- Other duties as requested
