Passionate creatives — we’re looking for you. The Digital Creative Team is responsible for the expression of the Pottery Barn brand across channels. We are the visual designers, UX experts, videographers, and editorial writers responsible for delivering the Pottery Barn story — from site to social, catalog to email. About the Role
The videographer/editor is responsible for strategizing, concepting, shooting, and editing video footage to produce short and long-form video content for social media, 360 marketing campaigns, and website assets, as part of a dynamic Digital Creative team.
Responsibilities
- Create fresh, elevated video ideas for paid and organic social media channels, site landing pages, seasonal campaign launches more
- Tell visual stories – proactively partner with art director, video lead, designers, copywriters, and cross-functional teams to create videos that reflect our brand expression and unique point of view
- Edit footage, photography, and graphic layers into compelling video content
- Support creative development from concept through final execution, and juggle multiple projects while aligning to brief asks, milestones, and schedules
- Input music, dialogue, graphics, and effects to various pieces. Color match footage to approved photography assets
- Optimize content within technical constraints and requirements across multiple social media platforms (Instagram, Pinterest) and website
• Partner and collaborate with camera operators, art directors, stylists, and photo team members on set to capture footage and execute concepts

- Experience with motion graphics a plus
Criteria
- You have a Bachelor’s degree or BFA in Film or related field
- You have 5 years of videographer/editor experience, preferably in retail brands
- Portfolio demonstrating industry-level video production values and editing techniques required. Examples of pre-pro process, storyboards, shot lists a plus
- Strong communication, organizational and time management skills
- Passion for cinematography, short form video and social media trends
- Stellar video editing skills, 5 years’ experience preferred
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, and AfterEffects
- Experienced in color grading with Lumetri Color
- Ability to lead video shoots and manage small crews. Camera operating skills a plus
- Keen eye for typography and the graphic layer as related to video
- Firm grasp of color, lighting, composition, and audio to convey moods, tone, and brand style
- Skilled in video codecs, color space and delivery formats
- Meticulous attention to detail and ability to work well within tight deadlines
- Adept at working independently on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible, adaptable, collaborative, and open to change
- Ability to perform work onsite in the San Francisco office pending state, local, and Company return-to-work guidance during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.
