Drafter
POWER Engineers is currently seeking a Drafter to join our Power Delivery Overhead Transmission Line Department in our Portland, Oregon office. This person will be part of a dynamic team that provides engineering services to our clients across the country and abroad. Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, supporting, and coordinating the following:

- Technical Requirements and Development
- Develop working knowledge of Client/Power CAD Standards and Compliance.
- Adhere to POWER’s QA/QC procedure requiring upmost personal accountability to enhance the project team’s success.
- Maintain a high level of drafting quality and efficiency in alignment with project scope and budget.
- Develop an understanding in both AutoCAD and MicroStation to support project requirements, which include:
- Vicinity Maps
- Structure List
- Plan and Profiles
- Phasing Drawings
- Foundation Drawings
- Structure Assembly Drawings
- Permit and Crossing Drawings
- Load and Design Drawings
- Through drafting assignments and project work, seek to gain an understanding of transmission lines beyond the redline mark-ups.
- Travel to POWER or client offices/field/vendor facilities as needed.
Required Education/Experience:
- Associates degree or 1-year certificate in drafting (or equivalent technical degree)
- AutoCAD 2020-2024 experience
- Adobe PDF creation
- Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Time management and organizational skills are essential.
- Must be flexible to changes in work assignments as changes occur in project needs.
- Must be able to self-check own work for completeness and accuracy.
- Able to read and interpret drawings and drawing mark-ups.
- Able to use architectural and engineering scale to read and create drawings.
- The candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with other team members.
Preferred Education/Experience:
- Experience with AutoCAD
- Experience with MicroStation is a plus
- Knowledge of MS Office products
- Good background in basic mathematics
- Experience working with 3D drafting and detailing is a plus
- Bluebeam Revu experience is a plus
- Working knowledge of survey coordinate systems is a plus
- Practical intern or utility industry experience is preferred
