Job Posting for Machine Shop Manager at Power Test
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible as the leader of the machine shop at the Power Test Sussex facility: safety, people, culture, quality, WIP, parts one-time delivery and productivity improvements
Collaborate cross-functionally as a key leader influencing EBITDA and Net Working Capital; responsible for machine shop P/L and long-term planning
Responsible for make vs. buy decisions that balance company EBITDA and machine shop P/L performance
Build effective quality system for early detection and elimination of process and product variation, defects, and waste
Stewards Toyota Production System / Lean Enterprise as a key strategy to increase EBITDA of P/L, aligning day-to-day activities with long term strategy (the Power Test BTA)
Sponsor development of the Power Test Operating System: steward foundation in Traction/EOS while introducing Lean / Hoshin Kanri principles to coach organization
Utilize coaching and problem-solving techniques to improve customer/employee experience, foster cross-training, and develop leaders
Demonstrate Leadership by developing a collaborative, high performing team through structured problem solving
Support and foster a continued culture of entrepreneurship, customer-focus and market leadership
Qualifications
Robust Lean Transformation successes; deep knowledge of best practices applied to manufacturing processes.
Demonstrated track record of developing, retaining, and motivating strong teams.
Strong track record of positively impacting culture and leading through change.
Working knowledge of accounting methods and cost control procedures.
Ability to read engineering prints, BOMs, customer specifications.
Strong Office 365 skills (Excel, PPT, Word).
Education and/or Experience
10 years of strong hands-on machining experience (CNC and Manual Machining). Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred but not required.
Experience in < $75mm revenue manufacturing business with high mix, low volume engineered equipment. Experience in other functions outside of operations (sales, manufacturing, purchasing, finance, engineering, IT, HR).
