GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
All welders report directly to the Operations Supervisor and are responsible for Low Volume hand (primarily MIG) welding operations which include a variety (aluminum, carbon & stainless steel) of tube / stamping combinations but primarily complete lock rods. Will also be called upon to operate semi-automated, high volume welding stations may be called upon for proper training of plant personnel on welding and welding inspection operations, assist in welding problem solving initiatives.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Requires a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) certificate with six months to one-year hands-on knowledge/experience of welding principles and techniques; able to submit objective evidence of such experience. Welding coursework, diplomas, certificates are a definite plus.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must be able to achieve training competence for all low volume hand weld operations within 3 months of assignment (i.e. all machine operations and material requirements)
- Must be able to achieve Powerbrace’s “qualified welder” status within a probation period.
- Must be able to lift 15-20 lbs repeatedly throughout the work day
- Must be able to stand long periods of time while running all machine operations
- Must be able to read and write, complete basic math functions, interpret work documents, drawings and blue prints
- Must be able to achieve training competence for all machine operations functions,
- Accurately measure, test, and document results of inspections
- Adherence to all elements of quality management system
- Other miscellaneous activities as required.
