Summary

Directs the day-to-day functions of Powerex Operations by supervising, directing, and motivating staff. Organizing and monitoring workflow to ensure all efficiency and quality goals have been met.

Key Job Functions/Duties

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Accomplishes operational staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and/or disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees, and developing personal growth opportunities.
  • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting operational results.
  • Maintains product quality by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Provides operational information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data, answering questions, and responding to requests.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all equipment, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
  • Identifies errors with manufacturing routers, bills of material, and/or assembly drawings.
  • Identifying and implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
  • Establishes and maintains a close and productive working relationship with other departments and exhibits good cooperation and support of the cross-functional team

  • Demonstrates excellent decision-making and problem skills including identification, analysis, and resolution.
  • Demonstrates ability to resolve conflicts
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Knowledge of manufacturing concepts

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly responsible for 30 employees.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Operations, Management, or a related field
  • Supervisory experience
  • Must be able to interpret electrical and flow schematics.
  • Willing to work additional hours, including Saturdays

Language Experience

  • Willing to work additional hours, including Saturdays
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and customers.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts to the position

Reasoning Ability

  • Must be able to problem-solve daily operational and/or long-term planning issues
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to occasionally travel by airplane, including extended overseas travel (approx. 10-15% of the time).

  • The individual will spend about half of their time in a plant environment and half of their time in an office environment. Both are well lit, clean with normal/low noise levels (less than 85dbc)
