Powerlink has an immediate need for a skilled Café Cook with a solid work history to join our Foodservice Operations team. Powerlink is a provider of Healthcare Integrated Services to Long-Term Care and Senior Living Facilities and Corporate Dining, throughout the United States. We provide award-winning and highly successful solutions within the areas of Food and Nutrition Services, Environmental Services, Institutional Laundry Services and Facility Maintenance.
Job Summary
The Café Cook is responsible for preparing food and menu items to order while maintaining food safety and sanitation standards. Works with the café manager to ensure that food quality standards, food safety guidelines, and customer service expectations are met. Assists the café manager with ordering and receiving as necessary. Is responsible for maintaining a clean a safe work area and assisting food service attendants as necessary.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum two (2) years of experience as a cook in a restaurant, deli, or cafeteria style dining.
Must be able to speak, read and write English to communicate effectively with others.
Must be able to work Monday - Friday with flexible hours.
Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
Background in safety and sanitation compliance.
Must be able to independently execute all open and closing procedures for the café.
Ability to stand up to 10 hours a day.
Must be local to DeLand, Florida and surrounding areas.
Preferred Qualification
Associate degree in food service management, food and nutrition, hospitality, culinary arts degree, or related field.
Current ServSafe certification.
Knowledge of purchasing, food handling, preparation, service, and operation of all kitchen equipment.
