Overview
The User Experience writer is responsible for shaping user experience with engaging and creative content. Ideally, the writer aims to connect users to the product or service. The UX writer is responsible not only for writing copy in a grammatically appropriate way, but also for making a connection between the user and the content. Users want content to solve their problems, to simplify their lives. They want content to work together with a whole product or service in a context of a whole content structure.

- Creates content to connect users with our products as part of the UI and workflows, as well as within traditional information products.
- Expands knowledge of user experience best practices. Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of all users for primary product.
- Focuses on the details to ensure the language of our products is accurate and understood. Uses writing skills to simplify the language of our products and ensure accuracy. Applies accessibility standards to all content.
- Works within established process and begins to contribute to process improvements Demonstrates ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Proactively manages their workload independent from daily oversight by manager.
Qualifications

Qualifications:
Education or experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience writing copy for public consumption (such as journalism, curriculum development, training, online knowledgebase articles, help systems, and so on) plus 1-3 years industry experience.
- Fully fluent in written and conversational English.
- A portfolio of relevant work samples with a UX focus; including problems you helped solve for, your contributions, and impact to the customer.
- Working knowledge of the Atlassian software suite (JIRA and Confluence focus), or another wiki-based content system.
- Working knowledge of K-12 education and business processes.
- Good presentation skills.
- Understanding of and experience working in an Agile environment.
- Ability to operate effectively in a highly focused, team environment.
- Self-starter and with demonstrated initiative.
- Strong analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills.
