What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Service Manager position at PowerSecure, Inc.?
We are seeking a Field Service Manager (FSM) to work closely with our Field Generator Technicians and customers. The key objectives of this position are to maximize employee safety, field engineer productivity and utilization, quality customer service, and cost control.
Specific responsibilities include providing visionary leadership resulting in effective and quality on-time execution of scheduled events, adequate staffing management, maximized personnel utilization, ongoing employee career development, overall cost and inventory control, and achievement of total revenue and margin targets.
Responsibilities:
- Hiring, coaching and termination of Field Engineers with the support of the Regional Director.
- Approval of time off requests, expense reports and other functions associated with your direct reports.
- Administer company policies appropriately and fairly to further encourage employee satisfaction and retention.
- Ensure Field Engineers follow safety polices to assure they are properly trained and equipped; includes State and Federal Hours of Service requirements.
- Confirm jobs and field quotes are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Provide first-line support escalation for customers when experiencing any service issues.
Job Requirements:
- 8 years working in service-related industry with 4 years in the generator or utility industry.
- 2-4 years of management experience preferred.
- Technical knowledge of electrical and mechanical generator operation is a plus.
- Customer service experience to include negotiation, scheduling and dispute resolution.
- Excellent typing and computer skills; proficient with Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Experience working with an ERP or Service Management system.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Have a valid driver’s license and maintain a personal vehicle.
- Travel up to 50% of the time.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Able to pass a drug test, background check and have a clean driving record.
