What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Planner position at PPG Careers?
PPG has an amazing opportunity available for a Material Planner at our Grand Prairie site. As a Material Planner you will ensure a steady flow of all materials needed to keep a manufacturing line operating. You will team up with the company’s purchasing department to acquire the requisite materials from vendors. You will use our MRP (Materials Requirement Planning) to control inventory and manage production. Your job is to minimize costs and maximize productivity. You will report to the Planning Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
· Convert req’s. to Purchase Orders.
· Review daily MRP.
· Communicate changes on notes missing in the item master.
· Identify issues on items that don’t have safety stock.
· Ensure daily action was taken on past due Purchase Orders.
· Expand activity based on changing MRP environment.
· Expedite efforts to support the Component Shortage List.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or engineering.
· Experience in Purchasing at least 1 one year.
· Experience using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
· Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
