What are the responsibilities and job description for the Asset Fleet Manager position at PPG Industries, Inc.?
As an Asset Fleet Manager leads us within Traffic Solutions USCA that manages our asset fleet related to returnable tote packaging.
As part of the supply chain group, this position is based in Greensboro, NC and reports functionally to the Director of Customer Operations. PPG offers excellent and affordable benefits; substantial PTO, vacation, and sick time; and outstanding matching 401k plus additional retirement savings.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning and Sourcing Support: Manage the long-term supply/demand model, coordinate the standardization of the totes and support the replenishment sourcing strategy
- Operational Execution: Coordinate short-term supply/demand requirements following order fulfillment requirements, ensure refurbish readiness of asset fleet across all plants and ensure compliance with regulatory and safety requirements.
- Inventory Management: Establish and implement necessary systems and protocols to ensure inventory accuracy and report regularly. This includes rollout of asset tracking software across plants and ongoing training.
- Reverse Logistics: Enforce operational guidelines and report out metrics to monitor recovery performance.
- Coordinate other asset fleets such as forklift fleet maintenance management
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field /equivalent experience.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in logistics/supply chain, especially in packaging and forklift fleet management and reverse logistics.
- MS excel (can perform complex functions) skills
- APICS certification and project management experience
- Experience in multi-plant manufacturing environment.
