PROCESS ENGINEER
PPG Industries, Inc. seeks a Process Engineer in Richmond, VA to design, budget, and execute Capex projects and improvement activities in a manufacturing environment. Specific duties include: (i) compiling and submitting project capital request documentation, including justification, scope details, project schedules, cost estimates, and HSE compliance; (ii) executing and leading all aspects of approved capital projects, including engineering design, procurement, and generation of purchase orders, contractor work package development, building permit applications, health and safety plans for construction, construction coordination, startup and commissioning, managing project costs, and project schedules; (iii) developing Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs) for existing processes and new project implementations in English and Spanish; (iv) keeping records in Spanish and English of all day-to-day operations, maintenance, and service activities undertaken in the facility; and (v) developing and providing training on new processes and equipment in both English and Spanish as well as supporting OSHA and job-specific training in Spanish and English as requested.
Must have a bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a directly related engineering field plus five (5) years of post-baccalaureate and progressively responsible experience in a related position.
Experience must include: (i) four (4) years of manufacturing maintenance; (ii) three (3) years with project management, including managing medium and large projects over USD 1MM as well as managing and developing capital budgets over USD 1MM; and (iii) three (3) years generating and interpreting mechanical and electrical P&ID drawings.
Must have any experience using CAD and CMMS engineering softwares, including AutoCAD and Solidworks.
Must have any experience with or knowledge of: (i) engineering principles for troubleshooting processes; and (ii) Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Must be fluent (reading, writing, speaking) in Spanish.
Must be willing and able to travel to vendor locations up to 10%.
